In 1930, the Rev. Canon Roderick MacLeod published the book “Island Clans During Six Centuries” based on many years of research through the private papers of the Chiefs of Clan MacLeod held in Dunvegan Castle. Canon Roderick used these papers and other sources to examine the structure and workings of Scottish Highland and Island clans from the days of the Lords of the Isles through to the 20th Century. The book has been reprinted and is now available from online bookseller Amazon.
