Society awarded three $500 and four $250 grants for music, dance, and Gaelic study
Every year the House of Gordon USA awards a minimum of three scholarships through our Charles O. Gordon Memorial Scholarship. These are awarded to help the young, and even the young at heart to further their studies in the Scottish Arts. Areas include but not limited to: piping, highland drumming, highland dance, fiddle, heavy athletics, and Gaelic language study. The Executive Board awarded $500 Scholarships to: Charlotte Stone, a highland dancer from Burlington, Vermont; Malia Gary, an Intermediate highland dancer from Manvel, Texas; and Savanna Patterson, a heavy athlete from Enterprise, Alabama. The Society also awarded $250 Scholarships to: Andrea Damewood, a Gaelic student from Knoxville, Tennessee; Ari Brunner, a Premier level highland dancer from Clearwater, Florida; Nicole Dollins, a bagpiper from Coffee Springs, Alabama; and Shay O’Connor, a Premier level highland dancer from Palm Harbor, Florida.
