Shane Watson, leader of the Clan Watson society, spoke with the new chief of the Buchanans and with some of the executive committee of the Clan Buchanan Society International (CBSI). He has agreed to help CBSI expand their offering on the septs by using the Watsons as a template. This will allow CBSI to increase their engagement with their septs will allow Clan Watson to potentially engage with more Watsons. He has also offered to work with the Clan Forbes Society to do the same, since "there are no doubt Watsons that feel a closer affinity to the Forbeses than to the Buchanans."
