Founded in 1996, the original organization included members from all over the northern region of Louisiana from Shreveport to Monroe. Out of the main group, two separate entities were later formed and the Shreveport group renamed itself the Scottish Society of the Louisiana Highlands, and has remained thus since that time. Our mission is to help educate the people of Louisiana about the rich Scottish heritage and culture from which many of us in this region can trace our roots.
