The Society's purpose is to provide educational opportunities for its membership and the general public to participate in programs designed to foster and develop a better understanding of the history, culture and traditions of Scotland. The Society endeavors to be the focal point for cultural awareness and re-awakening within not only the Scottish and Rhode Island communities, but also the more general population of the New England states through participation and/or presence at various Highland Festivals or similar events during the year.
