The Society joins persons of Scottish birth and those of the same heritage in a bond of cultural and benevolent purpose. The motto is “Our Ain llls Aye Hae Strength to Bear, Anither’s Aye Hae Heart to Feel.” Aid to people of Scots origin or descent in distress remains an important function to the Socety. The Socety cooperates frequently with the British Benevolent Society of San Francisco and joins with such organizations as the Daughters of Scotia and the Daughters of the British Empire in special projects.
