New Chief of Clan MacEwan will present one-man play “Country: Scotland. Whit like is it?”
Chicago Scots has announced that Sir John McEwen will be performing at its Annual Scottish Festival & Highland Games. The newly appointed Chief of this year's Honored Clan, Clan MacEwan, will perform his acclaimed one-man play, “Country: Scotland. Whit like is it?” This is an hour-long show in which Professor Stramash, an academic who has just discovered the magic and possibilities afforded by theatre, conducts a whistle-stop tour of the history and literature of Scotland as he asks the audience to contribute to an understanding of the country’s essential nature. On March 24, 2025, His Majesty the King’s Lord Lyon, signed a warrant granting Sir John R.H. McEwen, 5th Baronet of Marchmont and Bardrochat, the arms to signify his hereditary chiefship of Clan MacEwan. The performance will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 14, at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, Illinois.
