Clan Forbes Society Releases New Video Highlighting Ancestral Tour

He has recorded and edited a 7:50 video summary of the tour, which is now available on the DHShields YouTube Channel. The work includes highlights from visits to Druminnor Castle, Castle Forbes, Pitsligo Castle and Kirk, Huntly Castle, Fyvie Castle, Fyvie Church (with Tiffany Window memorial to Percy Forbes-Leith), Meldrum House, Craigievar Castle, Speyside Cooperage, Glenlivet Distillery, Johnsons of Elgin, Elgin Cathedral, Culloden House and Battlefield, Highland Archive Centre, Knockando Woolmill, Dowans Hotel, Corgarff Castle, and the Lonach Highland Gathering and Games. Glaswegian Derek Shields received his honours degree in Computer Animation & Digital Art in 2011. He developed his skills as a Digital Creator by producing travel videos and blending videography, speedpaintings and animation techniques for events and festivals. Society members will know Derek as the artist behind the Society’s last publication House of Forbes for Kids. More than just a tour videographer, Derek and his partner Leesa McInnes were also engaging travel companions who provided a fresh, young perspective of modern Scottish life.
