Clan Irwin Association Raising Funds for National Trust for Scotland

Funds will purchase display case for Castle Drum charters from Robert the Bruce

Clan Irwin Association has announced that they are soliciting funds for the National Trust For Scotland for a humidity-controlled display case for documents currently locked away. These include the Robert the Bruce Charters that granted the land of Drum, under the royal seal, to the Clan Irwin. Due to the age of the papers and without a display case that can control moisture and light, these papers are very rarely seen by the public. The Trust has identified a case builder who previously used his expertise to create a specialty case at Craigievar Castle where the oldest known door in all of the Trust’s properties can be found. The cost of the case is $10,000. By making a gift through their American foundation, The National Trust for Scotland Foundation USA, donations will be tax-deductible and 100% of your contribution will be sent directly to Drum Castle. Donations are accepted via www.ntsusa.org/donate (note Drum Castle document case in the “Special Instructions” box); by calling 617-227-7500; or by sending a check payable to The National Trust for Scotland Foundation USA to PO Box 9207, 25 New Chardon Street Lobby, Boston, MA 02114.
