Aeneas Simon Mackay, 15th Lord Reay, inherits role after the death of his father, Sir Hugh William Mackey
Clan Mackay Society has announced the inauguration of Aeneas Simon Mackay, 15th Lord Reay, as the 29th Chief of Clan Mackay. The ceremony was conducted at the Strathnaver Museum in Sutherland, on Saturday, August 19, 2023. The ceremony centered on the Farr Stone, an ancient standing stone with Celtic carvings dating to the 9th century. Lord Reay observed that "The Chief, as I see it, is responsible for ensuring that the next generation understands the importance of their ancestral history. "
