Empire Throwing Club will be hosting a Scottish Games Training Day in Clifton Park, north of Albany, New York. The club is dedicated to assisting new athletes break into the sport and to providing opportunities for training sessions, networking, advice on gear or techniques, carpooling to competitions, and news. The training day offers an opportunity for athletes to learn the ropes from experienced throwers and to try all of the events such as stone put, weight for distance, hammer throw, caber toss, weight over bar, and sheaf toss. One of the speakers includes Alexandra Lee Duncan, Highland Games Judge and Vice President of the Virginia Scottish Games.
