Lord Lyon accepted the Rothesay Herald's report and invited Ewing to petition for undifferenced Arms of the Chief of the Name of Ewing
Clan Ewing has announced that the Rothesay Herald, George Way of Plean, informed John Thor Ewing that the Lord Lyon accepted his report on the Ewing Family Convention and invited Ewing to petition for Arms that will be recognized as the undifferenced Arms of the Chief of the Name of Ewing. Lyon advised that none of the arms currently known for the name are held to represent the undifferenced arms, and that it would therefore be appropriate to establish a new coat of arms that was not identical with any earlier versions. The clan anticipates a formal inauguration in Scotland in 2025.
