The results of the advertisement will inform Lyon's decision granting arms
The Lyon Court has has issued an Interlocutor ordering advertisement of the Petition for Name and Arms of MacDonald of Glencoe by Alan MacDonald. The advertisement will be posted in various places including on the High Council of Clan Donald website. The last Chief of the Name and Arms was Ewen MacIain MacDonald who died in 1840. The candidate for the Petition for Arms is a retired banker and current High Commissioner Emeritus of Clan Donald in New Zealand.
