Clan Donald family members and the Sleat community have started a petition on change.org in an attempt to prevent the Clan Donald Lands Trust (CDLT) from selling the 20,000-acre Armadale Castle estates. The petition states that “is more than just an act of injustice; it strikes at the very heart of our community, heritage, and livelihoods” and that “the ongoing sale feels eerily reminiscent of the Scottish clearances of 1750-1860.” The petition encourages the Trust to allow “the time and right to explore viable options for their preservation.”
