Turnbull Clan Association and local community members have raised enough funds to purchase the Bedrule Kirk. The historic church interior includes Turnbull coat of arms and the Bishop William Turnbull plaque. The kirkyard holds the Turnbull cairn and is the final resting place of many Turnbull ancestors. The kirk was one of thousands of church slates for sale by the Church of Scotland. A Bedrule community-based grassroots effort called “Bedrule Church Future” began raising funds to purchase the church and maintain it to be used for events in the community. Turnbull Clan Association members contributed $27,500 towards the purchase cost of $46,500.
