Are you interested in discussing the duties and responsibilities of a Clan genealogist? Do you wish there was a forum to share best practices with your fellow genealogists? If so please join Sean Logan, Genealogists for Clan Logan, and Christine Conlon, Genealogist for Clan Buchanan, for a Zoom video conference call.

On Sunday, September 21, they will host a 30-minute call to gauge the interest in creating a community of Clan Genealogists. In this session, Sean and Christine will introduce themselves, their Clan, and how their Clan approaches genealogy. Then Sean and Christine will share options and look for ideas on how this community can come together.
Chris started on her genealogy trail after her mother’s death in 1997. She began by volunteering with Brigham Young University in their Immigrant Ancestors Project. After she worked with this group for a few years, Chris then got involved working with NEHGS, doing the extractions and transcriptions that formed the searchable databases on their website. Chris joined The Clan Buchanan Society in America with the hope of breaking her brick wall, her second great-grandfather. Although the brick wall remains, Chris has become the Clan and Society genealogist, regularly contributing articles for the quarterly Buchanan Banner news magazine, has built a standalone genealogy website, launched a Clan Buchanan and septs atDNA project, and continues researching the Clan Buchanan family tree, which now comprises over 28,000 names. The goal of the CBSI genealogy team is to build the most comprehensive and accurate, sourced tree possible.
Sean retired from corporate life in 2022 and kicked off his post-retirement career by putting together his family tree. While developing his genealogy skills, he was asked to take on the role of Genealogist for Clan Logan Society International. In this role, Sean has created a Clan Genealogy site, rewritten the Logan Wikipedia page, and is now the manager of the Clan Logan page on Wikipedia. In his role of genealogist, Sean is primarily focused on finding a living heir to one of the Logan Chiefs of Name and Arms, the Logans of that Ilk. To better hone his skills, Sean joined the Scotland Project on WikiTree and has become an administrator of the Logan DNA Project. Even eager to increase his skills and grow the reputation of Clan Genealogists, Sean is hopeful that this community can come together for the benefit of all Clans.
If you are interested in joining them and other clan genealogists, please send an email to Bart Forbes at cosca@bforbes.com. He is hosting the call for COSCA and will send you the Zoom link.
