Artificial Intelligence (AI) may not have taken over the world (yet), but it’s made an initial foray on the Facebook pages of many clan and family societies.

As of June 29, 2025, fifteen clan and family societies have employed some form of AI on their group pages. Each society has given their AI guide a name and selected a pictorial representation or avatar.
Six of those fifteen groups have configured them to provide a weekly summary of posts: Clan Home/Hume Group, Clan Irwin Association, Clan MacAlister Society, Clan MacKenzie Society in the US, Clan Maclean Association in the US, and Friends of Clan Scott.
Here’s a complete list of all AI enabled Facebook pages with the notation of whether it is “private” or “pubic,” the number of members, and the name of its AI avatar.

We also have one at Clan Little, "ClanMate" on our Private Group. Problem is, we don't know who is behind it or whether there is any control over what appears there. It wasn't something the leadership team was aware of until it just mysteriously started showing up. It's kind of clever and may be a benefit, but not sure we trust it...
